The Post Montecito is a thoughtfully restored retail and dining destination shaped through close collaboration between the client and a talented team of architects, designers, and builders. The landscape design introduces a series of defined seating zones that encourage lingering beneath mature pepper trees and cascading wisteria. Aging flagstone and mismatched brick were replaced with a unified field of weathered brick, establishing a cohesive and durable hardscape language across the site. A curated selection of Greek terracotta planters was integrated throughout the property, adding vertical structure, rhythm, and moments of focus within the pedestrian experience. The planting palette was designed to visually complement the adjacent Andrée Clark Bird Refuge, echoing its soft, natural character through a mix of California natives and select ornamental species. The result is a refined, climate-appropriate landscape that balances environmental context with the needs of a vibrant retail setting.
