The Post Montecito is a thoughtfully restored retail and dining destination shaped through close collaborations and complementary materials. The landscape plan introduced defined seating zones framed by mature pepper trees and cascading wisteria, unified by a field of weathered brick that establishes a cohesive hardscape language across the site. A curated selection of Greek terracotta planters added vertical structure, rhythm, and moments of focus throughout the pedestrian experience. The planting palette echoes the soft, natural character of the adjacent Andrée Clark Bird Refuge resulting in a refined, climate-appropriate landscape that balances environmental context with the vibe of an elevated retail setting.

Paul Hendershot Design is located in Ojai, California and specializes in a classic approach to landscape design. This project combines European-style pea gravel landscaping and local, drought-tolerant plants highlighted by pottery. The resulting landscape complements the existing architecture and ties the property in with the surrounding Southern California area. Landscape architect Wendy Harper is based in Moorpark, California, but she has had the opportunity to design properties throughout Southern California. For this secluded Malibu home, Wendy skillfully chose and incorporated both subtly colored French Anduze planters and traditional Greek terracotta pots into the landscape design of a modern, yet traditional Mediterranean style estate.
