Many terracotta pots featuring these classic designs were found in ancient villas from the Italian pre-Roman period known as Etrurian or Etruscan. The Itorrini Classic Line of pottery represents ancient Mediterranean civilizations and their timeless designs along with classic Tuscan shapes from Florence, Sienna and the small hill towns such as Imprunetta, which is noted for the famous "Galestro" clay. The Itorrini Classic Line has been sculpted with strong "high relief" (alto rilievo) making these pieces unique and stunning examples of Italian terracotta. This beautiful collection of terracotta, like the original terracotta of San Rocco is frost-resistant. Take a look at our post "The Top" on our News & Events section for a picture of the fabulous Focus from the Itorrini Classic Line. Eye of the Day carries, along with the Itorrini Classic Line, Terrecotte San Rocco's Itorrini Terre Colorate Line featuring modern designs in various colored terracotta, as well as their original line of terracotta pottery, fountains, tables and benches.
