Greek Terracotta
The Greek pottery sold by Eye of the Day is handmade by traditional potters on the beautiful island of Crete. Situated between Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, in the warm waters of the eastern Mediterranean, the potters of Crete create their distinctive pithoi - huge ceramic, the designs of which have been used for storage for more than 3000 years.
These handmade pots ensure perfect harmony of form and function. Only the firing process has changed in 3000 years. Gas kilns now ensure that the highest temperatures are achieved - over 1100 degrees celsius - making the pots strong enough to weather the coldest of winters without fear of cracking.
Concrete Pots and Containers
As early as the 1930's, Italian immigrants began making molds of classical designs, replicating sculpture using concrete to ensure durability. In the coastal climate of Southern California, these elegant pieces will last for decades. Enhance the beauty of your outdoor living areas with elegantly designed pottery, statuary and accessories.
Sizes range from tiny to tree size. There are styles available to fit any decor, including sleek and unadorned, and the European draped, floral and ornamental designs. Colors and finishes vary as much as the styles - warm Italian hues, cool grays, and a variety of finishes that allow for the growth of moss, and lichen to create an elegant aged look.
Asian Glazed Pots
Asian pottery features high fired stoneware pots, and glazed pots with distinctive jewel-like coloring from deep moss greens to beautiful dark oxblood red, and cobalt blue as well as antique crackle in many colors. It is frost-resistant and extremely resilient. The clay used in the production of this pottery is some of the purest in the world, which allows the clay to be fired at a very high temperature, resulting in great strength.
English Lead
Garden ornaments fabricated from lead have been prominent in English gardens since the 18th century. Early leadwork was often painted, but today the material is appreciated for its own appearance, which blends harmoniously with stone and plant life. Lead is extremely tolerant of the elements and improves with age.
Many sizes, shapes and designs are available in planters as well as fountains, birdbaths, plaques and statuary. Each item is handmade using sheet lead, carved moldings and sand casting.

English Limestone
The beautiful limestone products of Redwood Stone are made using natural stone without the use of artificial pigments or dyes. The stones are quarried and crushed, and used to produce reconstructed stone with a beautiful, fine honeycomb texture. Each piece is hand-finished to ensure that its appearance is as close as possible to that of cut natural stone pieces produced by the most skilled stonemasons. In time, the limestone will take on its own natural patina.

Anduze Pottery
Anduze is a small town in Provence with its own distinctive style of pottery. Anduze pottery is represented most famously by its distinctive vases, created in the 16th century by a potter inspired by Italian Medicis vases. The Anduze Vase is an enduring tradition. Even today, contemporary artisans painstakingly detail the garlands and medallions by hand, and create a variety of textural effects with glazes.
Francesco Del Re Terracotta
Francesco Del Re terracotta is hand-crafted according to traditional techniques in the hills of Chianti, near Florence. It is simply the best of the best. This terracotta pottery is created from Galestro clay, which is difficult to work with, but results in pottery which is durable as well as beautiful. The terracotta is slow-fired at high temperatures, a process which confers unequalled strength and characteristic color gradations to the finished product. It has excellent resistance to ice, sun, salts, or acids dissolved in water. This product is backed with a 20-year guarantee. These pieces can be expected to last 200 years or more.
The Del Re terracotta collection comprises a variety of designs and styles featuring floral, animal or mythological motifs. The original designs owe their uniqueness to the careful reworking of classical forms by master artists and artisans. The balance between form and decorative elements make these terracotta works elegant objects suited to refined indoor or outdoor settings.
